Beach Glass Designs

Sometimes showhouse rooms can be a little over the top, but this guest bedroom designed by Jackie Higgins of Beach Glass Designs (photographed by Marco Ricca) for the “Home Is Where the Heart Is" Designer Showhouse in Glen Cove, New York is refined, comfortable and serene. I love the balance between the turquoise and soft neutrals, the chic furniture and the fab window coverings! I'm always a fan of ocean-inspired accessories too! Martha O'Hara Interiors

I don't see a lot of coastal-inspired homes here in Minnesota, but leave it to Martha O'Hara Interiors, Sharratt Design and Carl M. Hansen Companies to create a gorgeous one in Edina! The stunning model home was part of the 2013 Midwest Home Magazine Luxury Home Tour, and had I been lucky enough to see it in person, I'm not sure I would have been able to get past the mudroom! Not only is Orlando-based Natasha Smith an awesome fashion and portrait photographer, she's got quite the knack for decorating too! I love what she did with her son Jadenn’s room using a fresh and clean turquoise, gray and white color palette. What kid would not love that tree house bed?! Her custom touches like the beach sign and little DIY cornices are so cute! I love the window treatments she made too, and dresser that she painted the same color as the wall. Cute, cute, cute! Thank you all so much for your sweet birthday wishes yesterday!! I had a great day celebrating and am excited to start this new year! I think it's going to be the best one yet! :)

Now that it's officially fall (yay!) I'm all about being cozy....and this is exactly what I'm talking about! Photographer Gina Cristine beautifully captured the inspiring suburban Chicago home of Bridget O'Connor, one of the authors of the blog DIY Playbook. I love all the coastal touches, flea market goodies, and fabulous finds from stores like Target and HomeGoods! Great style does not have to cost a lot, that's for sure! It's been an incredible last few weeks with our sweetheart Wesley...I can't believe how big he's getting–and that's he's over 3 weeks old now! (I'll share some pics below!) I'm so thankful that I work from home, and so thankful that the little guy is such a good sleeper so I can get back to sharing some turquoise with you!

Designer Leslie Tetrev of Inside Effects out of Little Rock, Arkansas was inspired by the colors in the granite countertop when picking out paint colors for this beautiful kitchen. (She used Sherwin-Williams Silvermist for the cabinets, and a custom-mixed paint similar to SW's Black Fox on the island.) I love the serene, cool look of the cabinets with the basket-weave Calcutta marble tile on the backsplash! So loving the windows too!
