Cottage Charm

This delightful cottage featured in Better Homes & Gardens is light and bright, filled with the perfect amount of blissful blues. The owners did a fantastic job of mixing rustic with the refined, and using vintage goods and repurposed pieces. I'm getting some serious inspiration from these photos. See those cute curtains in the bedrooms? Yeah...shower curtains...from Target. And I spy a DwellStudio for Target pillow on the bed too. (I'm a big Target fan, if you can't tell!) There's more to see on this home tour, so head on over to BHG! I wish you all a wonderful weekend! I can't believe July is coming to an end!

Stacey Brandford

If these bright and beautiful photos from Toronto-based photographer Stacey Brandford don't put you in a cheery mood, I don't know what will! All of the vibrant color and fun patterns mingling together are delightful treat for the eyes. I especially love the detail shots! (How come my tables never look nearly this pretty?) There's so much more eye candy awaiting for you over at his website!

Divine Kitchens

When the owner of this fabulous kitchen begun her renovation, the only thing she wanted was a double oven. (She must not read a lot of design blogs!) But after sitting down with Mariette Barsoum, the owner of Divine Kitchens out of Boston, and Heidi Marika-Perez, Divine's interior designer, she realized she actually wanted a lot more! She craved a spacious room with a modern vibe, infused with bold color. She also wanted to be able to display her collection of original Fiestaware from her grandmother and her many brightly colored Le Creuset pots. To complement them, Perez selected an custom-colored aqua concrete for the large island and watery blue glass tiles for the backsplash. I love how it stretches to the ceiling! Read the article in Design New England and see lots more images here!

Windsor Smith "Room in a Box"

Without a doubt one of my all-time favorite designers is Windsor Smith. I am crazy about her elegant yet whimsical style and brilliant use of color. Is there anyone reading who hasn't drooled over that turquoise painted kitchen floor above?? It continues to make my heart sing! When it comes to designers with her level of talent and fame, I assume their services are usually reserved for those with the big budgets. Not so in her case. Windsor Smith believes everyone should have access to great design. I was excited to learn that she created an online decorating service called "Room in a Box" to bring her clever design ideas and to-the-trade resources to those of us with great taste and perhaps a wee bit smaller budget! Just send her your room specs and some photos, fill out a questionnaire, and you're on your way to your own custom-designed Windsor Smith room! Read more about it here!

"Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa."

I have a soft spot for country homes, especially ones in Iowa (where I was born.) The homeowners of this 1923 Craftsman bungalow spent 8 months renovating their home featured in CountryHome magazine. They wanted to maintain the house’s Craftsman style but give it a lighter look, which they accomplished by tearing down walls, adding windows, and bringing in white tiles and paint. And plenty of breezy, beautiful blue! You know what's cool?? The owner said everything from windows to countertops to flooring came from their local Home Depot, including some great special orders. I love it! See more photos, including what it looked like before, right over here!

I'm thrilled today to be a guest blogger over at my friends Chris Ann and Kristin's blog LoveFeast Table. Actually it's their fabulous newly redesigned blog! In celebration of their launch, they asked me to be a guest at their table and share with their readers about my blogging journey and love for turquoise. Moreover they are giving away a breathtaking Turquoise Tree of Life Necklace designed and handmade by Liz Oie. You won't want to miss out on your chance to win here!

Red Element Design Studio

I am sure you are all glued to your screens devouring these images! This gorgeous Kiawah Island home designed by Rebekah Carter of Red Element Design Studio and photographed by Michael Costa is positively dream-worthy. The Old World European charm mixed with modern touches gives the home a luxurious but laid back look that I am loving. Call me crazy, but I could just eat up all those fabulous windows. What a treat to have French doors in the bedroom opening up to an infinity edge pool overlooking a big pond! Oh my! Read about the home and see more images at Charleston Home + Design! Have a wonderful weekend!!!
