Carl Steele & Birthday Wishes

This serene master bedroom featured in Veranda designed by Philadelphia-based Carl Steele and photographed by John Hall is crisp and cool. I don't think it would ever cross my mind to mix zebra-print curtains and Greek key-pattern carpeting, but the two definitely complement each another here!

I have to give a big birthday shout-out to my dad today!! He's a giant supporter of all my blogs (he should really be the head of my PR!), and of turquoise in general...he's always sending me photos from his iphone of turquoise stuff he sees, and proudly wears the turquoise shirts I buy him. What a great dad!

Stella Cadente

I loved this post on Down and Out Chic dedicated to striking purple and blue interiors. Among the collection was this way cool guesthouse located in Provins, France. The rooms in La maison de Stella Cadente were actually designed by fashion designer Stella Cadente. Each room has its own unique personality, but my favorite is the jewel-toned "non-smoking" room above. She also designed the Salon Beaujon in the Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe. The turquoise ceilings are tres fabuleux!

Armonia Decors

I was instantly smitten with LA-based designer Emily Ruddo of Armonia Decors when I saw her fabulous work popping up on so many of my favorite blogs over the last couple weeks. Like so many of us, Emily gravitates towards blue, and uses the coast and water as inspiration in many of her designs. She is a big fan of creating spaces where people feel harmonious and calm, but more importantly, better about themselves when they are in them. (Love that.) The right blends of color are usually a part of her equation, as you can see from these amazing photos taken by photographer Meghan Beierle-O'Brien. Turquoise Garden Cottage

This colorful hideaway featured in Le journal de la maison is the perfect escape for an afternoon nap! The cute little garden cottage is getting me pumped for the weekend (and the Spring). I'm super excited for tomorrow...we're going to another Independent Wedding Fair in Minneapolis. They're small and intimate, and oh-so-fun. We learned SO much at the last one, I totally recommend checking it out if you're engaged or know someone who is!

Vivi's Aqua and Coral Nursery

Yes. YES. This is how you do a nursery people! I stopped dead in my tracks when I spotted this room on Two Tall Blondes. Lucky little Vivi is the daughter of Joni, the talent behind Chocolate Butterbean. Her custom signs and stationary are amazing, so really it's so surprise to me that she churned out such a cool space (and a cool new nursery inspiration blog...). If you're like me, you neeeeed to know what colors we have here. Valspar Aqua Glow on the walls, and the ceiling is a lighter shade of the same color, Valspar Grand Hotel Mackinac Blue. Those colors and the b&w chevron rug really tie the eclectic space together in such a sophisticated way. See and learn more right here!

Purple Perfection

I'm almost certain that this picture perfect apartment featured on Delikatissen, most likely in some fab European city, could convince any American to down-size to 430 square feet. (Unless you live in NY, you guys already rock your small spaces!) Despite its limited size, the comfy and cozy home has such a great flow about it. Not to mention a striking color palette that I don't see nearly enough! How fun is that fabric and wallpaper?! You definitely want to see more of this home...head right this way!

Color Me Happy

Can you guess where this home is?! Just a few minutes walk from the sea in Malmö, Sweden, of course! This Hus & Hem space showcasing a bright white backdrop splashed with a rainbow of color is all sorts of fun. I'm digging the whimsical details like the life-sized animals by artist William Sweetlove, the beautiful glass art, and all the bold fabrics.
