2013 Southern Living Idea House

Leave it to two of my favorites to create such an incredible home: Historical Concepts, the architect on the project, and interior designer Phoebe Howard. The farmhouse located on the grounds of Fontanel, just outside Nashville, Tennessee was the 2013 Southern Living Idea House, captured here by photographer Laurey W. Glenn. I'm loving all the rustic elements along with the serene color palette that was inspired by the surrounding sky and hills. It all feels so cozy! The master bedroom is just gorgeous...love that poster bed! The other bedroom is actually in an outside bunkie. What a beautiful private retreat for guests! Jana Bek Design

I love the light, airy feel to this New York City studio apartment belonging to interior designer Jana Bek, photographed here by by Erik Melvin and Nathan Kostegian. Jana skillfully incorporated her love of color and pattern into the limited space, not to mention an awesome mix of high/low and DIY! I love the turquoise headboard and how it mirrors the throw on the other side of the room. Those lamps are super fun too! Jana actually painted them herself–and now sells them! She also specializes in e-design...so no matter where you live, if you're looking for (affordable!) design help check that out! Skip Sroka

I love peeking into interior designers' own homes, and this glimpse into the home of Washington, D.C. designer Skip Sroka of Sroka Design Inc. did not disappoint! I know I can't be alone here...those kitchen shelves?? Love at first sight! The colorful pottery collection looks stunning against the blue background (Benjamin Moore's "Harbor Haze")! What a stunning space! Rachel Seldin of San Fransisco-based Seldin Design Studios was inspired by the colors in a throw blanket from India when designing this exotic master bedroom. Such a striking mixture of texture, pattern and color! Isn't that headboard incredible?? The linens are as well, I just love everything–especially that fun blanket at the end of the bed! If I was ever fortunate enough to have a beach house, I'd love to hire Carter Kay Interiors to do the decorating! Their style is so up my alley, I am drooling over every inch of this Sea Island, Georgia home photographed by Emily Jenkins Followill! From that drop dead gorgeous kitchen to the blue and green bedroom and everything in between, it's truly a stunner!
