Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Aside from a couple mums, we never got around to decorating our front door this fall (a new baby will do that!), but I've been loving what I've been seeing around the blogosphere and Pinterest....especially this front porch from The Wood Grain Cottage! Shayna went all out with her decorating, which was inspired by the great outdoors and cozy fall elements. I have to admit though, it was her door painted Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore that first got my attention! Love it with the orange! You guys have to see inside Shayna's home, it's beautiful. Charmean Neithart Interiors

Who can resist a cute California cottage?! Interior designer Charmean Neithart out of Pasadena gave the homeowners of this 1700 sq foot home photographed here by Erika Bierman exactly what they wanted: a beachy vibe while making the most of their limited space. Such a lovely mix of natural texture, color and pattern! Seriously, how cool is that fireplace?! And I've never met a turquoise door that I didn't love! (This one is painted Florida Keys 2050-40 by Benjamin Moore.) There's more to see of the home, so head here next!

Don't you just love fall?! Turquoise isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind with autumn decorating, usually it's warm colors galore, but I think a little thrown into the mix looks awesome! (Red-orange tones are complementary to turquoise on the color wheel, so I know it's not just me!) Whether it's simply adding some pumpkins outside your turquoise door or bringing in some orange throw pillows, you can see there are lots of great ways to incorporate our favorite color!

Well hello there! Kathryn here, from Kathryn J. LeMaster Art & Design. I am just tickled to be here today filling in so our favorite HOT mama and her new little one can spend more time together and hopefully catch up on some well deserved R&R!

Like Erin and most of you, I can't get enough of the color turquoise and all of its beautiful variations. Though I've always been drawn to this happy hue, it seems to have snuck up on me in recent years, climbing the charts and becoming my number one favorite color.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe it was all a head-first-downward-turquoise spiral after the garden stools. Ah, yes. The eye-catching, room-popping turquoise garden stools. A perfect pair.

Once upon a time I stumbled across them on One King's Lane. They called my name and it was love at first sight. They now live happily-ever-after in my entry way (above). Each time I walk through the room they greet me with a cheery smile that brightens my day the way only turquoise can. 

Today I want to pass along to you the day-brightening smile that is everything turquoise. It is my honor to share with you a few of my favorite pics of this winning color in action!
