2013 Southern Living Idea House

Leave it to two of my favorites to create such an incredible home: Historical Concepts, the architect on the project, and interior designer Phoebe Howard. The farmhouse located on the grounds of Fontanel, just outside Nashville, Tennessee was the 2013 Southern Living Idea House, captured here by photographer Laurey W. Glenn. I'm loving all the rustic elements along with the serene color palette that was inspired by the surrounding sky and hills. It all feels so cozy! The master bedroom is just gorgeous...love that poster bed! The other bedroom is actually in an outside bunkie. What a beautiful private retreat for guests! Martha O'Hara Interiors

I don't see a lot of coastal-inspired homes here in Minnesota, but leave it to Martha O'Hara Interiors, Sharratt Design and Carl M. Hansen Companies to create a gorgeous one in Edina! The stunning model home was part of the 2013 Midwest Home Magazine Luxury Home Tour, and had I been lucky enough to see it in person, I'm not sure I would have been able to get past the mudroom! Coastal Living Idea Cottage

My seaside-loving self can't get enough of this one!! An oldie but goodie, the Coastal Living Idea Cottage of 2008 located in picturesque Scarborough, Maine was designed by Tracey Rapisardi, one of my favorite beach-chic designers. I'm sure you've seen some of these photos taken by Jean Allsopp, but I was excited to find some new ones on Tracey's site. The playful elements (love all the stripes!), vintage touches, beachy hues and weathered coastal accents give the new home the character of a long-standing beach cottage. Martha O'Hara Interiors

One of my most favorite designers (who just happens to be based in Minneapolis!) is Martha O'Hara Interiors. Looking at this sunny, coastal inspired home photographed by Troy Thies, you'd think we were somewhere warm by the sea. No folks, it's here in Minneapolis...the same place that just got hit with a ton of new snow! The office/mudroom is my favorite space, the cutest one I've ever seen! LOVE that bench painted Benjamin Moore "Forget Me Not" and the striped wallpaer! The kitchen is perfection too–love the breakfast nook and chandelier!
