Aqua and green with a punch of purple thrown in...what a stellar combination! I love how the stunning Orchid paper from Cole & Sons is reflected all around this lovely room designed by Liz Carroll. The space just sings! I adore the arches on the window and above the tub...they make the nook so cozy. Great storage here too...as a product junkie through and through, this is a must-have for me! Interior Philosophy
I can't begin to tell you how much I love this Watercolor, Florida vacation home photographed by Brian Bieder belonging to Mandy Mayers. Together with Jessica Roan, her friend and business partner in their Atlanta home furnishings shop, Interior Philosophy, the pair lifted colors from the surrounding coastal area when designing the space. It's beachy, but not in the conventional way we're used to seeing on here. Normally I like a lot of color, but there's so much depth here from the mix of textures combined with all the layers of natural elements. The sophisticated pops of gray and turquoise add the perfect amount of contrast. Gosh I love it. To read all about the home, just hop on over to Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles!

I'm Back!
What a dream the last few days were. Our trip to Mass. was fantastic! We were so surprised how big Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket were. Oh my goodness, the countryside!! That's what surprised us the most. Of course it was cute house overload, everywhere you looked were the most darling shingled-style homes. I told Chris, this is like Pinterest, in real life!
I have a lot to catch up on and have to run to pick up Gertie from the dog-sitter, so I'm just going to leave you with these teaser photos I took on Cape Code in Chatham.
Chatham...talk about THE perfect place to spend my birthday!! *sigh*

Incorporating Turquoise Into Your Home
by
This fun wallpaper I chose for the pool room enabled me to bring in the rich color of aqua water and turquoise sky.
Our back yard fun house is adorned with accents like these.
Bold sage and creme stripes are great colors that compliment any shade of blue, especially turquoise.
If decorating an outdoor living space - fabrics like the print on this sofa will fade naturally with the suns rays.
fear not, a little "vintage" like appeal looks great against the textiles in this room.
Personalizing a space by adding a collection of things you love is always important.
Our eclectic mix of china and glassware is a perfect way to harmonize your rooms aesthetic during teatime.
Whether inside or out, this special color gives off the idea of open air serene living, bringing the outdoors in –
which is what this room is all about.
Scattering plenty of blue shades around a room is the best way to gradually add that favorite color (Turquoise!)

Pat Healing
I literally gasped out loud when I laid my eyes on this room photographed by Maura McEvoy in the latest House Beautiful. The homeowner's oldest daughter wanted an aqua and black room, so Pat Healing of HB Home used a lot of white to keep it from being too dark. I don't know what I love more...the the always-exquisite Sara Chandelier or Paradise Background by Quadrille filling the walls with our favorite color! Speaking of Quadrille, have you seen their new fabric?? I am loving these three below!
In just a few hours we will be taking off for our long weekend in Massachusetts! I've long been dreaming about strolling the streets of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, and thanks to you all, now Chatham. In fact I think that's where we will be celebrating my birthday tomorrow! I can't think of a better place to wrap up the best year of my life. 30 sure was a good one!
Designer Annette Tatum will be stopping by tomorrow with a guest post for you guys, and on Monday I have a fantastic giveaway all ready to roll. (You'll love it!) So with that, I need to bid you adieu so I can finish packing! :)

Liz Carroll Interiors
It feels like forever since I've shared a boy's room featuring our favorite color! Why should girls have all the fun? Well I know for certain one little guy who is loving his new big-boy room. His mom is Liz Carroll, an interior designer in Wilmington, NC. I love the upbeat color scheme she chose to bring some happy energy to his room, photographed here by Allison Breiner. What kid wouldn't dig the bunkbeds and all the great built-ins?! And of course those fun bean bag chairs covered in Trina Turk's Sonriza Print from Schumacher and Jonathan Adler's awesome Giraffe Lamp! I'm loving the fabric she chose for the window treatments as well (Outdura Fabric in Aquatic and Natural White). They look great against Thibaut's (scrubbable!) Harbour Linen Wallpaper in Beige. Caitlin Creer Interiors
This serene yet fresh and modern living room designed by Caitlin Creer out of Salt Lake City all began with Schumacher's Avebury Floral Vine gracing the pillow on the fab tufted sofa. A perfect complement to Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue at 75% on the walls (one of my favorites)! So many other great details like the the cozy window seat with all the colorful pillows from Etsy, the striking black spool chair and the gorgeous fireplace with its amazing fretwork detail. The gorgeous millwork, mantles, and paneling were all designed by Steve Tiek and built through Tiek Built Homes. Benjamin Blackwelder, who did all the work on that Dream Home Tour you all loved so much, was responsible for the cabinetry and built-ins. What a dream team! Erin Paige Pitts Interiors
This New England shingle-style house belonging to interior designer Erin Paige Pitts has everything I'd ever want in a home! Located on Gibson Island off the western shore of Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, the wood floors finished in a dark stain look so lovely paired with the all-white walls and splashes of cool blue. I just love how open and free-flowing everything is. And the sunny beach-themed family room off the kitchen looks so cozy...I am loving that fireplace! Mirador Builders + EDI International, Inc
Happy Friday!! I don't often have the opportunity to share homes like this authentic Spanish Colonial Revival designed by EDI International, Inc and built by Jennifer Hamelet of Mirador Builders out of Houston. Jennifer has been designing, building and marketing for over 20 years, and her home is something dreams are made of. Of course I was immediately drawn to the kitchen with its painted cabinets (Green Granite by Pittsburgh Paint) and pops of red. But I know you're going to want to scroll back up and take another look at the concrete tile rug in the office. Jennifer sat down with a box of 20 colors and pulled five that most closely resembled her 115 year old Heriz and Oushak rugs then designed the tiles from templates and had them made in Nicaragua. So cool! SO many other neat details in the home...custom tile everywhere, antique chandeliers and sconces, 300 year-old antique colonial doors, turquoise windows frames...I could go on and on but you can see more for yourself over at Mirador Builders! Oh if you happen to be looking for a home in Houston, this one just happens to be for sale! Go here for more info!
